Happy Birthday to me

and Tyna Mccay. She is coming here in an hour so we can have a joint birthday dinner, then we are going to the haunted corn maze, then the bar. woohoo! Bryson and Brittany surprised me in Kirkland after class today and took me to lunch so that fun too! I'll post pictures of the birthday revelry after it all happens!

I don't think I like this Jessica simpson song. Well, the song woulda been ok had I not seen the really bad music video. That's some scary makeup. WEll I just finished washing lots and lots of damn windows for my grandpa, I mean he lets me live in his spare apartment for free so I'm not complaining, but this cements my desire to become filthy rich and hire someone to do everything I don;t like to do, which is just about anything related to housecleaning or cooking. yay. plan in action.

I just discovered Craig's list. Heard of it previously, of course, but never used it. I will now move to Las Vegas, Florence, and Australia and find me a job and apartment. I just don't know when. And I should probably finish school first. But geez, this is great. I'm ready to get outta here and do something. I hope it's ok that I don't want to use my teaching degree which I will have by July. Well, I do, some day, when I'm old, like 30, but not now. I want to put that degree on the back burner and go do some cool stuff. Well I'll use the degree if it's in Italy or Australia. But if I go to Vegas, I'm cocktailing. Or bartending. Way more money in that, in vegas, than in teaching.

sorry I haven't posted the curly hair yet. I'll get on that. I really need to finish my lesson plan on how to teach the three branches of government to 8th graders but between this blog, myspace, and facebook I am an unstoppable procrastinator tonight. What's new in petersburg, anyone? It rained today and I wanted to cry. I realized that I really and truly hate rain. hatred. I try not to hate too many things, but rain qualifies. It's cold, wrecks your hair and makeup, makes your clothes wet, I just hate it.

no more semi-curly. I permed it. Against Cena's advice, but I did it. and it is WAY curly. But the lady said to give it three days to a week and it will relax especially cause myhair is soooo heavy and thick. evidenced by the FOUR HOURS I sat in that chair today getting it permed. I actually like it now too, but it is not what my vision was. My vision is hair that is about the same curlyness as the below picture but 1) that the curl goes all the way to my roots, not just 2/3 of the way up like it does naturally, and 2) it stays all day, cause that picture below is my hair at it's VERY best. one hour later the curl falls. So, hopefully this new perm action will chill out a little and give me my above two hair wishes. Once it is calmer I will give you a picture. and derek, you're great.

Semi Curly Hair!

Suddenly my hair is curly, as previously written about. Not spirals or anything, but for a previously-stick-straight head of hair, this is pretty curly to me. The problem is that it is so heavy that the curl pulls out about halfway thru the day and just gets ugly, so I might get my hair a little chemical help. I want it the same curlyness, more or less, but so it will stay all day. I think this hair will be most helpful when it comes to my student teaching in January, cause I will be putting in LOOOONG days and early hours between college classes and student teaching. the easier the better.

who woulda thought....

I am becoming my mother.
So lately my hair, previously stick-straight like good Indian hair should be, has begun to dry with a funky wave. I can no longer just let it air dry and do nothing to it if I want it to be cute. I used to be the object of hair jealously, as all my friends spent hours with their straightening irons and mine dried flat. Not anymore. sO i had this wild thought, maybe it's curly. longshot I know. I bought some "curling/scrunching mousse" today, cheap stuff cause I figured I was dreaming, and scrunched my hair. totally curly. whoa. weird. what kinda Indian has curly hair. and i don't like crab, clams, or shrimp. I'm a bad Indian. the white in me is coming out. I think I like this curly hair thing though! takes two minutes to scrunch it, but still straight enough that 5 minutes of blow drying produces straight hair. Alright ,I'm sure you are sick of hair talk now.

Weekend weekend

I was getting used to my boring lifestyle and here I have had two exciting weekends in a row. I am exhausted. I can't handle having a social life anymore, I need to be a hermit. Matte was here all weekend. yesterday Annikki, Matte and I went to the mall then downtown to REI and then to dinner at a Mexican restaurant, where Anni got carded and we couldn't get her a margarita.well, worth a try right. Today I got to see Maysa, the one I lived with in Italy, for all of you who have been long-standing readers and remember the blonde from the pictures. That was really cool. Then my cousin Zac was here to play soccer so I went and watched him. I'm spent. I don't need friends for another two weeks or so after this, I'm all full up :) Zieak and Cena are here soon!
