School...

started. yuck. after one day of class i already have almost 500 pages of reading. is that insane? yes, i think so. i finally have electricity in my bedroom though, it's about time. a week without a lamp, computer, candle-melter-thing, radio, etc really sucks. so now i am happy. and it dropped to a cool 88 degrees so that's much better too--it was 100 the other day. just a little warm for me. the good news of the week is that i do not have classes wednesdays or fridays ever. sweet huh. plus i am taking beginning rock climbing and beginning tennis so that should be fun...

Back to school...

I'm back at whitman and my house is trashed. It was coming along quite nicely, the living room had furniture and my room had stuff put away and such and then our dumb landlord decided we would have the carpet cleaned today. Which WAS necessary, as the last tenant had a dog and there was dog hair EVERYWHERE, like embedded in the carpet like an inch thick, but really, couldn't we have done this before? so we had to move EVERYTHING into the kitchen. Back to square one...oh well. I need to get internet in my house so i can post pictures, and also call the prison to see if i still have a job. so much to do...and classes start tomorrow. ANY my lovely advisor informed us that for his class tomorrow night, we have 300 pages of reading due. Usually we don't have work for the first day but apparently we have one less classtime this semester than he thought, so we had to do work for the first day. Yuck. And to top it all off, I had my most expensive semester for books, ringing up to a wonderful $462. Yay.

Vegas, baby

So I've had plans to go home for Thanksgiving for a while now and we had tickets on hold to purchase today. But then Brita calls and says "me, jen and dyl just bought tickets for Vegas at Thanksgiving, wanna go?" So all of a sudden I'm going to Vegas. They are gonna try to get a bunch more people to go to, so we have one big Vegas Petersburg party. Should be fun. I've never been there before...Brita, Jen and I decided while the boys gamble we are going to see ChipnDales...you can't go to vegas and not watch guys strip...

Walla Walla

Well i am off to WW in about half an hour. I have been here in seattle area for three days, got back Tuesday from Hawaii. My burn is already tan so that rocks. It's super nice here too, so i've been lucky on the weather. As soon as my camera recharges i will post some pictures of my new house cause i know you are all dying to see it!

Is anyone even there?

Ok, so i guess i have to withdraw all previous comments on Indians not needing sunscreen, cause my back is hurting. That aside, we went to The Skeleton Key tonight, which was really good but had an unexpected ending. Kalen like it, Blake and I were disappointed. We like cookie-cutter clear-cut happy endings. Definetly go see it, it's pretty creepy. I'm off to Seattle tomorrow, sadly, but I have a lot of shit to do to get my new house ready to go so i must leave these boys here. But since I just barely got Carli to start reading my blog again, I will continue to have non-boring adventures to attempt to keep her hooked.

This is my lower back. sorry you can almost see my crack. Definetly one of the worst burns I can remember having...it hurts, but surprisingly not that bad. Good thing i leave tomorrow or i think i would develop skin cancer...

this is me, chillin under a palm tree.

Anchor

This is me and Kalen by the USS Arizona anchor retrieved after it sank, having been hit by up to as many as 7 bombs, killing 1177 people on this ship alone. see how smart i am? and i also like being next to kalen cause he makes me feel dainty, hehe :)

USS Arizona Memorial

Kalen and I went here today. I was really cool...the memorial was pretty and it was pretty cool being able to see the actual boat on the bottom of the harbor. We also went through the museum, and i know this makes me a nerd, but reading all those little info plaques detailing the entire attack was really interesting and since i am a history major specializing in American history, it was actually helpful too. Shit, I'm being studious before school starts!

This is us on Shawn's boat. It was a hold out picture, so i am closer to the camera, I swear my head is not actually that big...hehe

Pearl Harbor and Waikiki

Today Kalen and I went to Pearl Harbor and went to the USS Arizona memorial. It was really cool...out in the middle of the harbor over the top of the sunken ship. It still drips oil constantly. I wouldn't have thought it could even have oil left after 64 years! I will try to post pictures tonight. We then picked Blake up and went to Waikiki for two and a half hours...I definetly have a good tan line going. Unfortunately it is mostly from my scoop-neck tank top and not my bikini because i was out all morning in the tank top first. Oh well. At least I'm in Hawaii! Well we are gonna go check out the dining hall but i will try to give you some pictures tonight!

Hawaii, and lack of an audience

I am here in sunny hawaii with kalen and blake. damn it's hot. however, it is maybe supposed to rain THE REST OF THE WEEK which would highly piss me off. but, although sunday calls for 50% rain, it is supposed to be 93 degrees so i can't complain a lot. I'm willing to lay on the beach in the rain if it means I'll actually look like I belong to my heritage again. The shitty thing is that today was freakin roasting and we spent all day getting the registration done, buying their books, and doing costco and walmart runs to get a TV, mini-fridge and other necessities taken care of, thinking it would be smart to do it all the first day, leaving the rest of my time here to play. So it backfires and threatens rain. Bummer deal. But, I'm in Hawaii so i can't complain anymore. I'm here til tuesday, not on my computer, but when i get to walla walla next week i'll start posting pictures again...ONLY, however, if it is worth it, cause i am starting to think i have no blog audience left.

Disasters

Everything Brita and I do together turns into a disaster of some sort, and seeing as she is my best friend, we have some kind of disaster almost every day. today was canoeing. we took the McMahon's canoe to go up the creek because our boat ride to aggasiz ditched us. we got halfway across the narrows and a big spider got on my leg so i freaked out and dropped the oar and we had to one-oar row chasing it down the narrow. so, we get halfway across again and a sea lion starts stalking us, i kid you not, he followed us everywhere popping up on all sides and snorting at us. very scary. "Eaten by a sea lion" is not what i want my obituary to say. so we rowed back to the coast guard dock til it went away. the third time worked ou and we went up the creek as far as we could go, which was not too far because we are stupid and went on a low tide. of course that meant we exited on an incoming tide and it took us TWO HOURS to get out of there because the tide was running against us so fast. So now my arms are really sore and i never want to see a canoe again. But overall it was a good way to spend a day in the sun, and now i am more tan, which is good because i was starting to look like a white girl...

Record Highs

supposedly. well it is super nice out, finally, and of course it comes 6 days before i leave town for school. lovely. oh well, at least i don't work much these last few days so i can enjoy the weather...brita and i are going to agassiz sunday so that should be fun. selling fruit all day yesterday outside wasn't so bad, but damn, the pizza place was about 10 million degrees last night.

Hawaii

In one week and two days my life will once again be more exciting for you to read about. sorry about the three month lull. It won't be as good as Italy was, but it will be better than life in p-town. I'm going to Hawaii with Kalen and Blake to set them up in college, because they are too incompetant to do it themselves their first year. Hey, I had help too, I'm not trying to be mean. I've never been there before, and the weather here has SUCKED (don't get me wrong, it's awesome today!!!) so it should be a lot of fun. I almost didn't get to go, but they pushed for me to be able to. I was flattered for about 30 seconds before i realized they probably just want me to stock them up on booze or something. Anyways, I will be able to post Hawaii pictures for you all to see, yay.

It worked!

My computer decides when it will and won't let me update my blog....today i guess i'm lucky so i will do a bunch of random updates in case i don't get another chance for a while. Let's see, what to tell you about...
Saturday night there were barely any seiners in the bar, but lots of other random people, and i made $174 in tips. I was pretty stoked about that. I have to credit my papa bear's crew who disapproved of my original outfit and dressed me in a much more low-cut shirt and high-cut skirt before letting me go to work.
I wanted to go to the movie tonight but it is really nice so i would feel stupid being inside, so i am going bike riding with brita instead.
I am most likely taking penny's shifts cocktailing this thursday and friday so i will be there then and saturday...no fishermen will be here, so those of you who are should show up to keep me busy. Three slow nights in a row would suck.
I didn't go out Friday night but have heard from several people that zieak played good music at Harbor...although there is no dance floor. I did, however, spend the whole night texting back and forth with cena. I find this funny because i talk to her in person maybe once or twice a week but sometime text back and forth for hours. hehe.
my brother shot a deer at Tonka the other day and it looked like bambi, seriously you had to practically use a microscope to see points on that rack. sad.
my wish list at Framer's Loft is growing in case any of you are wanting to buy me something.
